We look at two more Syrian coups, this time in 1961 and 1963. The first, partly caused by the tension between Gamal Abdel Nasser and Abdel Hamid al-Sarraj (see photo) brings Syria out of the UAR, the second cements the Baathists (specifically Baathists in the Syrian military) to power. Enjoy!
