YEMEN
The new United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, accused Yemeni rebels on Friday of committing war crimes in the month since Yemen’s ceasefire lapsed without renewal. Türk’s office cited three artillery attacks and three sniper attacks over that period of time that occurred in predominantly civilian parts of Yemen. Despite these incidents Yemen has not seen a return to widespread fighting since the ceasefire expired and the UN is still apparently engaged in trying to broker a new ceasefire.
