Weather is not climate, or so I’m told, so I’ll just mention that there’s some really extreme weather going on right now in the Middle East, which is dealing with major sandstorms at the rate of about one per week, and in South Asia, where a massive heat wave has killed at least 90 people and stifled India’s wheat output. I’m sure there’s no broader implication to be drawn from these events other than “gosh, weather sure is wild sometimes!”

YEMEN
Yemeni rebels reportedly shot down a Saudi reconnaissance drone over Sanaa on Monday, killing three people in the process. Another three people were wounded when the drone crashed in a commercial district in the city, spraying shrapnel as it did so.
