YEMEN
The Yemeni government and Houthi rebels are scheduled to meet in Geneva on Saturday to discuss a long-gestating prisoner swap. The Houthis announced a major prisoner exchange last March but it still hasn’t actually materialized. Saturday’s session will kick off an 11 day round of talks on the exchange and, ideally, other issues related to winding down the Yemeni conflict. The talks should be aided by recent regional developments (see below) and will hopefully build on them.
