YEMEN

A Yemeni militia called “the Giants Brigade,” which is supported by the UAE and is aligned with the pro-government coalition, claimed on Monday that the entire province of Shabwah was back in pro-government hands. The Houthis had seized a large portion of that province in an operation that began in September and was aimed at cutting government-held Maʾrib city off from supplies and potential reinforcements. The coalition began an earnest offensive to retake the areas that had come under Houthi control around the start of this month, and it seems the effort has paid off.
