SYRIA

At least one child was killed Monday amid an uprising by female detainees in the Syrian Democratic Forces’ al-Hol camp. That facility is home to tens of thousands of family members of detained or dead Islamic State fighters and is overcrowded beyond the SDF’s capacity to manage it effectively. Six other people were wounded in the incident.
