War it is. How much war remains to be seen.
just want to say thank you DD for your level headed analysis amongst all this
I'm thinking about the stuff Bob Wright's always saying about cognitive/strategic empathy, and the article you shared in tonight's roundup from Marcetic about Washington's war pigs wallowing in their own filth. This news is obviously a huge turning point, but it doesn't mean any major prediction henceforth is a foregone conclusion. *Even if* diplomacy over the last few months could not have righted this ship (as you said, we'll never know)-- that doesn't mean it's a lost cause going forward.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I feel like it's worth keeping in mind.
Dramatic departure from the tone Mark Ames took on True Anon just a few weeks ago. Not many people seriously thought Putin was just going to go for it. Hell the Chinese are surprised. Such a waste. Maybe Putin has some "cognitive decline" too.
"How much war remains to be seen" - True that. Putin just toppled over the whole chessboard.
