This week, the suspicious death of a Kurdish woman while in police custody sparked protests throughout Iran. Fighting resumed between Armenia and Azerbaijan. US-Marshall Islands negotiations to renew the Compact of Free Association collapsed over the US’ failure to address its nuclear weapons testing legacy. And, Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization of troops for the Russian war effort in Ukraine, while re-asserting his willingness to resort to nuclear weapons.
