This week, Czechia’s ruling party suffered a surprise loss in parliamentary elections. The Ethiopian military may have begun a new offensive against Tigrayan rebels. Time is beginning to run out to salvage the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal, but a European Union envoy made some progress in a visit to Tehran. Iraqi parliamentary elections were marred by low turnout and election security concerns. Finally, a violent incident in Beirut challenged Lebanon’s tenuous stability.
