This week, China announced moderate changes to its climate plan ahead of the global climate summit in Glasgow while US leaders fretted about an apparent Chinese weapons test earlier this year. Israel approved plans to build thousands of more settler homes in the occupied West Bank. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was welcomed fully back into polite society. A coup in Sudan drew heavy international condemnation. Finally, Taiwan remained a growing point of tension between the US and China.
