These past few weeks, Israel and Hamas reached a temporary ceasefire that was extended for a week before expiring yesterday. The North Korean government launched its first spy satellite into orbit, followed by the South Korean government doing the same a two weeks later. Rebel groups across Myanmar continue to gain ground at the ruling junta’s expense. COP28, the United Nations’ annual climate summit, kicked off in Dubai. And, the United States Department of Justice filed criminal charges against an Indian citizen, alleging that they were plotting to murder a Sikh nationalist in collaboration with the Indian government.
