The Arab League votes to readmit Syria, deadly Israeli strikes pound Gaza, and more

This week, Arab League foreign ministers voted to unconditionally readmit Syria. The Israeli military continues to bomb Gaza, purportedly targeting Palestinian Islamic Jihad leaders. Ceasefire talks between Sudanese military and Rapid Support Forces representatives failed to bring about even a pause to the fighting. US-China diplomatic communications resumed after a period of frostiness. And, mixed reports emerged from the front lines as to whether Ukraine’s big “spring counteroffensive” had begun in Bakhmut.
