This week, Saudi Arabia and Iran agreed to restore bilateral diplomatic relations, with China’s help. Thousands of Tunisians protested President Kais Saied’s continuing slide towards authoritarianism. A new report accused an unspecified “pro-Ukrainian group” of bombing the Nord Stream gas pipelines. South Korea announced the terms of its agreement with Japan to compensate victims of forced labor during World War II, to significant public criticism. And, Iran and the IAEA reached an ‘agreement’ on how to proceed following the detection of 84 percent enriched uranium in Iran last month.
