This week, Ukraine-Russia peace talks continued to stagnate, but a statement from the Russian military on Friday hinted at a new “stage” in the conflict. North Korea carried out an ominous missile test off of its eastern coast. A proposed security-for-naval-basing agreement emerged between China and the Solomon Islands. The Ethiopian government and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front agreed to a ceasefire after over a year of brutal fighting. Meanwhile, hopes remain slim for a Ramadan ceasefire in the war in Yemen.
