Updates on the Iran nuclear deal and on the war in Ukraine

Hi everybody, Derek here. I’m very pleased to welcome Kendrick Lu, a first year law student at Columbia, to Foreign Exchanges as our new “Week in Review” writer. Kendrick will be introducing himself below but let me say that in addition to having him on board I’m also grateful that we didn’t miss a week in our WiR coverage.

This week, Ukrainian and Russian negotiators continued to work towards a peace agreement while the invasion raged on. New life may have been breathed into the Iran nuclear deal. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired missiles into Northern Iraq. China aggressively expanded lockdowns in response to a jump in coronavirus cases. In a virtual meeting, President Biden cautioned President Xi against supporting the Russian war effort in Ukraine.
