This week, the Biden administration announced that President Biden will be traveling to the Middle East next month to meet with regional leaders. The European Commission recommended that Ukraine and Moldova be considered as candidates for EU membership. Ongoing violence in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo has caused regional tensions to spike. Egypt, Israel, and the European Union agreed to a long-term plan to provide Eastern Mediterranean natural gas to Europe. And, NATO pledged yet more weapons for Ukraine.
