This week, Burkina Faso experienced a military coup. There were signs of progress in the Iran nuclear deal talks as negotiators broke for consultations. The Syrian Democratic Forces militia continued to fight Islamic State fighters a week after an attempted prison break in Hasakah. Border guards in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan once again clashed along their shared border. Finally, the security situation in Ukraine seemed to calm somewhat as negotiations continued.
