This week, signs of an internal power struggle in Kazakhstan became clearer. Tensions between France and Mali’s ruling junta increased. North Korea conducted more missile tests while hinting at further escalation to come. US and Russian diplomacy seemed to forestall conflict, at least temporarily. Finally, a Yemeni rebel airstrike at Abu Dhabi airport in the UAE led to significant and deadly Saudi retaliation.
