This week, the Ethiopian government released several high-profile political prisoners but continued its mass arrests of ethnic Tigrayans. Violent protests rocked Kazakhstan. North Korea tested what it claims was a new glider warhead. NATO and the US responded to Russian demands regarding the alliance’s future expansion plans. Finally, Sudan’s civilian prime minister resigned over disagreements with the ruling military junta over the country’s political transition.
