Ukraine heats up again, European forces begin departing Mali, and more
This week, tensions over Ukraine spiked again after what looked like a possible respite. France and the European Union announced it would withdraw their counter-terrorism forces from Mali. Negotiations on reviving the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal showed signs of progress. Turkmenistan’s long-time ruler looks to be handing at least some power over to a successor—presumably his son. And the Iraqi Supreme Federal Court disqualified presidential candidate Hoshyar Zebari.
