This week, Ankara laid out its terms for the SDF’s withdrawal from the Syrian-Turkish border, with a Turkish invasion looming. Xi Jinping visited Saudi Arabia to sign commercial deals with several Gulf states. Reports that Iran had decided to abolish its morality police remain inconclusive. The EU/G7’s price cap on Russian oil took effect on Monday, receiving criticism from both Russia and Ukraine. And, Washington hosted key Australian officials as part of its broader effort to bolster US influence in the Pacific Islands.
