This week, protests in Peru over former President Pedro Castillo’s arrest showed no signs of slowing in the face of military crackdown. Tensions in northern Kosovo led the Serbian government to formally ask NATO for permission to deploy Serbian security forces to that region. The Biden administration sought to reinforce its waning influence on the African continent through the US-Africa Leaders Summit. Friday marked one of Russia’s largest single-day bombardments of Ukraine since the war began. And, Polish objections postponed an EU vote on a Ukraine aid package and a global minimum corporate tax.
