This week, the new Nigerien junta signaled that it might be willing to negotiate with ECOWAS. Anti-government protests spread across Syria, driven by an ongoing economic collapse. Wagner Group boss Yevgeny Prigozhin and several members of Wagner’s leadership were abroad a fatal plane crash over Russia’s Tver oblast. Norway joined Denmark and the Netherlands in committing to send F-16 jets to Ukraine. And BRICS leaders concluded their summit by announcing a six-member expansion.
