MIDDLE EAST

SYRIA

The Turkish military says it’s killed at least 10 Syrian Kurdish militia fighters in cross-border shelling over the past couple of days. The Turks are responding to artillery fire from the Kurds over the weekend that wounded four Turkish soldiers. Elsewhere, US forces say they killed a “senior” Islamic State leader in an operation in northern Syria’s Aleppo province early Monday. At least two other people, both allegedly IS members, were also killed in the raid.
